How do I get started?
If you are new to Shinshin Toitsu Aikido (Aikido with Mind and Body Coordination) or any kind of martial art, the Beginners Course is highly recommended. This is a good way to take a look at what Shinshin Toitsu Aikido is all about and to see if it is
right for you.
If you are interested in mind and body coordination (Shinshin Toitsu Do), but not in martial art, then you might consider
taking our KI class. Please see the Training Schedule section for details.
Step 1. Please register for the Beginners Course and/or Ki class by sending us e-mail at:
info@raleighkiaikido.com
(Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis!)
Step 2. All students will be requested to read and sign a Raleigh
Ki Aikido Release of Liability Form before participating in the Beginners Course and/or Ki class. The form will be e-mailed
to you once you register, and is also available at the dojo.
How old do I have to be?
Raleigh Ki Aikido is currently accepting students who are 13 years
old (junior high) and older. If you are under 18 years old, you must obtain a signature from your
parent/guardian on the Release of Liability Form before you can start attending classes.
What should I wear?
Aikido techniques involve grabbing the wrists, arms, and shoulders, as well as some kneeling
and rolling on the mat. Loose fitting, durable shirt & sweat pants, or white (bleached or un-bleached) judo/karate dogi
are recommended. Shorts are not recommended as we perform many exercises on our knees.
